Geneva Smith Memorial Environmental Biology Scholarship
Criteria for this endowed scholarship is determined on a year-to-year basis by the President. Annually funds are awarded to the PSU Natural Science Department for the continuation of the Geneva Smith Environmental Biology Scholarships. Recipients are chosen by a committee. No application process is required.

Science, Biological Education

Hunter Baney Barton Memorial Scholarship Fund
The purpose of this endowed fund is to honor Hunter Baney Barton and to provide scholarships. A scholarship shall be awarded annually to a student who is majoring in Mathematics or Natural Science (alternating years) and who has satisfactorily completed the Junior year. It is the donor's preference that the recipient be a female student. The student shall demonstrate financial need, and shall be selected by a faculty committee in the respective department.

Isabel Murray Natural Science Education
This endowment provides funds to recognize and reward student achievement in science courses. It is intended that all students meeting the criteria receive equal shares of the available funds. Awards are determined based on the following criteria. The student must be a full-time undergraduate, formally enrolled in Biological Science with an option in Education or Physical Science Education; have taken at least 12 credits of natural science courses at PSU; have completed the sophomore or junior year; have a grade point average in the science courses required by the major of at least 3.0 at the completion of the year for which the award is given; be a continuing student who has met the criteria upon completion of the previous school year. Recipients are chosen by a committee and a decision is made before the end of June of each year. No application process is required.

* Students who would like to be considered for scholarships that identify financial need as a criteria will need to complete the Federal Financial Aid Application before the March 1 deadline. Academic and Non-Academic Departments offering scholarships collaborate with the Financial Aid Office, therefore, it is imperative that students comply with PSU policy.
