PSU GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

  • University Grant (formerly called "College Scholarship") is awarded based upon a student's financial eligibility as determined by the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Priority deadline to file is March 1.

    Out of state students receiving both a PSU University Grant as well as an estimated need-based grant from their home state will have their University Grant adjusted (up or down) to equal the combined total awarded from both need-based grant programs, if the state grant changes from the estimated amount.

  • ACE - Affordable College Effort Grant. A grant for New Hampshire freshmen beginning 2006-07 whose EFC is $0- $1000 as calculated by the completion of the FAFSA by March 1. Funds are to be used to assist in paying direct costs billed by Plymouth State University. For subsequent years, students who began 2006-07 may be eligible for renewal if the FAFSA is filed by March 1 and the EFC continues to be $0 - $1000.

The following three PSU Academic Merit Scholarships are awarded to first-year entering students by the Office of Admission. Notification of eligibility is sent in the Admission's Acceptance letter. The numbers of awards vary each year. Award consideration is based on several things, including: class rank, SAT scores, strength of academic programs and high school activities. No additional application is required.

  • Presidential Scholarship - Awards range from $3000 to $4000 and are determined by the Admissions Office when a student completes their application.  Awards are renewable for three years if a cumulative 3.25 GPA is maintained.

  • Top Scholarship - $2,500
    Awards are made to New Hampshire students in the top 15 percent of their graduating high school class and who meet PSU admission requirements. Awards are renewable for three years if a cumulative 3.0 GPA is maintained.

  • PSU Scholarship - Awards range from $2000 to $3500 and are determined by the Admissions Office when a student completes their application.  Awards are renewable for three years if a cumulative 3.0 GPA is maintained.

Incoming Music, Theater and Musical Theater majors may be considered for renewable Talent Grants ranging up to $2,500, . Please contact the Music, Theatre, and Dance Department for details. Students who are awarded both a Talent Grant and a Plymouth State Academic Merit Scholarship may be eligible to receive a combined award ranging from $2,500 to $3500.

Plymouth State University awards a limited number of International Student Scholarships to RETURNING International students. Criteria for receiving the scholarship include Cultural Exchange, Community Enhancement and Academic Success. Please see the International Student Services office for scholarship application details and deadlines.

Eighteen (18) Undergraduate Fellowship awards of $1,500 per semester are available to upper-class students who have a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5. For more information contact the participating departments.
