PSU Refund Policy
Although these refund policies may reduce charges, students should also understand that in most cases of withdrawal, financial aid will also decrease. It is important to recognize that there are potentially two forms of financial aid that may be refunded if a student withdraws: federal and institutional funds.
If the university requires the student to withdraw, there will be no refund.
TUITION AND FEESIf the student withdraws voluntarily before the first day of classes, $200 of the advance tuition payment will be retained by the University.
Three-fourths (75 percent) of the tuition, mandatory and course fees paid will be refunded to a student who withdraws from PSU after the 1st day of classes but on or before the end of the Add/Drop Period.
One-half (50 percent) of the tuition, mandatory and course fees will be refunded after the end of the Add/Drop period but on or before the 30th day after the 1st day of classes.
No refunds will be made after the 30th day after the 1st day of the classes.
Late fees and the matriculation/orientation fee are non-refundable.
ROOM AND BOARDIn the case of withdrawal from the University, 100 percent of the room and board charges will be refunded to a student withdrawing before Registration Day (less the $90 room deposit). Three-fourths will be refunded after Registration Day and before the end of the add period, one-half will be refunded after the add period and within 30 days, and none will be refunded thereafter.
APPEALS
Appeals of the refund policies should be submitted to Richard Hage, Vice President for Student Affairs, Speare Administration Building.
