A Health and Human Performance degree from Plymouth State prepares students for a wide variety of career options in each profession. Plymouth State University focuses on several concentrations within the program:
- Athletic Training prepares a student for a career helping achieve and maintain their health goals. Students who pursue majors in athletic training will teach people how to understand and properly use equipment and provide information to achieve or maintain a healthy life-style.
- Health Education prepares students to work in a variety of educational, community and medical settings, including public and private schools, hospitals, managed care organizations, insurance companies, volunteer agencies and public and private work sites.
- Adventure Education will teach you how to use the Great Outdoors to expose children, adults and at-risk populations to challenging adventures, personal growth and self-discovery.Graduates pursue careers in field-based leadership, outdoor education, summer camp administration, state and national park education, therapeutic adventure, environmental education and recreation.
- Physical Education major focuses on the study of human movement using scientific and social foundations. Graduates of the Physical Education major go on to work in public and private schools, the fitness industry, allied health clinics, recreation and athletic programs and rehabilitation settings. Others pursue further study at the graduate level.
