This acrylic painting was done from a memory of growing up on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico in Alabama. Our family had a beach house located on a peninsula between fresh water from two creeks and a bay of brackish water that led out into the Gulf. We had an old boathouse on the creek side and spent many a day around that structure swimming, boating, and fishing. This image evolved to synthesize fragments of vision experienced over a long period of time of my moving through that interior space. I can even “hear” the soundtrack as I look at this painting.
