PSU Recreation Programs organizes large special events during the course of the school year. Some of the main events include:

Homecoming & Family Celebration 5K Foley Foot Race

For faculty, staff, students, alumni and family. Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 9:00am. Registration at 8:30am at Robert Frost statue.  If you are one of the first 30 people to sign up you will receive a commemorative T-shirt!

Basketball Festival

Features a 3-Point Contest, Free Throw Contest, 2-Ball Competition and a Slam Dunk Contest.  Music, t-shirts, giveaways, prizes, celebrity judges, funk faking, etc.  This event is tentatively scheduled for the month of March 2008.

Spring Fling Softball Skills Competition

Outfielder accuracy, infield fielding, dizzy bat, speed-around-the-bases, and yes, of course, Homerun Derby.  This year's Skills Competition is slotted for Saturday, May 3, 2008.  This year, the Skills Competition will be nuzzled in between a two-week Double-Elimination Tournament with a COMPETITIVE division and a RECREATIONAL division.
