PSU Housing Expectations

IMPORTANT PSU Housing Expectations / Policies

The following email was sent to all PSU students on February 11, 2008:

We hope spring semester is starting out well for you.  This email is being sent to remind you about University policies as related to housing expectations.

As stated in the Student Handbook:  "First-year and second-year matriculated undergraduate students are required to live in University residence halls or apartments if space is available unless released.  Approval in writing from the Office of Residential Life is required for all releases".  Please note that releases from this requirement are not currently being granted.

Do NOT sign any off-campus housing contract or lease unless you are explicitly released from your campus housing obligation (in writing) from the Office of Residential Life.  Please note the following:

** There are currently no releases for spring semester 2008.  Students currently on campus are in leases that are valid through the end of the spring semester (May 2008).

** Regarding the 2008-2009 academic year - At this time students who will be younger than 20 years old on September 1, 2008 and have less than 30 credits earned by the end of Winterim (January 2008) will NOT be automatically released from their on-campus housing obligation for that academic year.

Information will be sent to HUB Suite boxes during the next week regarding the process necessary for students to choose their housing for next year. This information will also be displayed on the Residential Life web site at http://www.plymouth.edu/reslife

Sincerely,
