Whether you are an alumnus of Plymouth Normal School, Plymouth Teachers College or Plymouth State College, or will graduate from Plymouth State University, we all celebrate being a part of the “Plymouth experience.” The PSUAA celebrates the Plymouth experience on an everyday basis, for you and the rest of the over 22,000 brothers and sisters as siblings of this great institution.
The mission of the Plymouth State University Alumni Association is to coordinate events, activities and initiatives that will keep alumni and their university connected; to foster and support communication between every group within the PSUAA and its board; and to be proactive in providing choices and guidance for alumni and PSUAA activities. While the 16 elected officers of the PSUAA strive to fulfill this mission, it cannot be attained without the numerous volunteers from the alumni at large, and the wonderful alumni relations staff. We are always looking to re-engage alumni with their alma mater. I highly encourage you to visit the alumni Web site, and should you be interested in getting involved, please contact us at 1-800-772-2620 or alumni@plymouth.edu.
The mission serves as our framework for current activities and our vision is the path we wish to follow in the future. The vision of the PSUAA is to celebrate the Plymouth experience by preserving the past, illuminating the present and embracing the future. How do we accomplish this? Keeping alive the memories of years gone by through events such as reunions, Alumni Day, Homecoming and chapter events, and through organizations such as the Heritage Society. The work of the board, the PSU Advocates and the President’s Council illuminates the present. Embracing the future includes engaging the current student population, aiding in creating their Plymouth experience and eventually welcoming them into their new role as alumni on graduation day.
We have made great strides as an alumni association over the years, and I am very proud to represent you as your president.
