My husband, John, graduated from Plymouth State in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science degree and received his master’s degree in 1965 from Columbia University Teachers College. John was a science teacher for 38 years, 24 of which were at Lenox (Mass.) Memorial High School teaching physics and chemistry. He was also golf coach for 23 years [there].
When John died July 29, 2003, I set up the John D. Barrett Memorial Scholarship Fund … to give a deserving senior at LMHS a college scholarship to pursue the sciences. To raise money for the scholarship, I am having a golf tournament on May 17, 2005 at Stockbridge (Mass.) Golf Club, where John was a member and on the board of directors. If any Plymouth State student or alumnus would like to play in the golf tournament … they can contact me at: Nancy Barrett, 67 Hawthorne St., Lenox MA 01240 or telephone (413) 637-2610.

Thank you for sending the Plymouth Magazine. Beautiful cover and nice article [“Found in Translation,” Fall Annual Report 2004]. A correction I would like inserted into the next issue: Thomas B. Moorhead, Deputy Under Secretary of Labor, International Labor Affairs Bureau, United States Department of Labor.
Tom was a lawyer-and an incorrect title would bother him.
