Plymouth State University has established a new endowment fund with the sole purpose of supporting the PSU unrestricted Annual Fund: the Heritage Society Endowment.
“Donors may make large or small gifts that will become a permanent part of the endowment. Income from the fund will become part of the Unrestricted Annual Fund each year, and donors will be acknowledged in the Annual Report issue of Plymouth Magazine,” says Angela Matthews, director of development at PSU.
Joan Cook ’69, chair of the PSU Heritage Society and member of the President’s Council, notes, “This new option within the Heritage Society is very appealing to our loyal Annual Fund donors. With a small current or planned gift, for example, of $1,000, they can endow the gift they’ve been making during their lifetime and be included as a donor forever. I like that!”
Matthews adds that giving to the Heritage Society Endowment does not require membership in the Heritage Society. The Heritage Society is composed of those alumni and friends of the University who have announced their intention to include PSU in their estate plans, through such vehicles as bequests, life insurance, gift annuities and remainder trusts.
