Meet Our New Board Members
Nancy C. Aldrich received her B.Ed. from Plymouth in 1974. Now living in Campton, N.H., Nancy is the program assistant for PSU’s Child Development and Family Center. She is very involved in the life of the University, and has served on the Marie Connelly Scholarship committee alumni-admissions information committee; professional development committee; Cultural Arts Center employee campaign; Summer Festival planning committee; Rounds Hall 100th birthday committee; Phonathon; and the class of 1974 reunion committee. Nancy notes, “Plymouth State has been an integral part of my life for the past 34 years—first as a student and now as an employee. Anything I can do to help out, I’m willing. I think it is important that interaction begins with students before they become alumni to maintain their involvement when they’ve left campus.”
Now retired and living in Manchester, N.H., George E. Davis was a teacher and coach of track and cross country at UMass Lowell. He received his B.S. from Plymouth State in 1963, where he played on both the men’s basketball and soccer teams, as well as serving in the Student Senate. He was inducted into the PSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995. “I would like to develop challenging new ideas to support the Plymouth State University community, help support ongoing projects, and contribute to the University in some meaningful way,” says George. “Having spent the last 30-plus years in a university setting, it is my hope that I will be able to bring forth some ideas that would be beneficial to the board of directors and to Plymouth State University.”
Anthony Guarino of Brentwood, N.H., is a retired public school teacher and coach. He received his B.Ed. from Plymouth State in 1950 and went on for an M.S. from Ithaca (N.Y.) College in 1965. While at Plymouth, he was on the men’s basketball team. Anthony is a member of the New Hampshire State Athletic Directors Association. His PSU service includes: past-president Greater Seacoast Chapter, PSUAA (2003-2005); ex officio PSUAA board of directors (2003-2005); Phonathon; 50th reunion chairman for class gift. Anthony says, “I look forward to continuing to work as an alumni member on behalf of the University.”
Bernard “Lee” Mason, a resident of Northwood, N.H., is a retired public school teacher, coach and administrator. Lee received his B.Ed. from Plymouth State in 1965, where he played on the men’s soccer team, and continued his education at Hampton (Va.) University, where he earned his master’s degree. PSUAA activities include: Greater Seacoast Chapter, PSUAA, Alumni Day Committee (1980), Annual Fund Committee (1975). He says, “I am proud to be a graduate of Plymouth State. I am also proud that my daughter is a graduate of PSU and my youngest son is a senior at Plymouth State University. Thanks to the excellent education that I received at PSC, I enjoyed a very satisfying and rewarding 36-year career as a public school teacher, coach and administrator. I believe that Plymouth State alumni should play a major role in promoting our university. It is my opinion that our own personal and professional success can be traced back to our experiences at PSU.”
