Plymouth State University’s Annual Recognition Reception celebrated retirees and employees with landmark years of service. President Donald Birx welcomed attendees and thanked those being recognized for their dedication to PSU, noting that their work with students is of vital importance and will impact future generations.
Retiring professors Richard Sparks of the College of Business Administration and Mark Turski of the Department of Environmental Science and Policy received rounds of applause for their contributions, and 89 faculty and staff members were honored for milestone anniversaries.
John Clark’ 71, ’73G was the longest-serving recognized individual. The founding manager of the Active Living, Learning, and Wellness (ALLWell) North facility has been an administrator at his alma mater for more than four decades, including two stints as athletic director that cover nearly 20 years. He also served as a member of the Plymouth State President’s Cabinet for 16 years.
The event and reception took place in the Heritage Commons of the Samuel Read Hall building.
