Michelle (Monahan) Harvell ’00 and Larry C. Pignataro ’01,’06MBA are the newest members of the PSUAA Board of Directors. Each brings valuable professional experience and a great love of “all things PSU” to their new roles.
Harvell, of Exeter, NH, is an experienced event and marketing coordinator. She currently is a condo association board member and Girl Scout leader, and previously coordinated events and marketing for the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce and served as director of new business and events for South End Media in Concord, NH. She sees many opportunities to enhance PSU events, including drawing more alumni back to campus for tailgating at Homecoming and better promotion of theater offerings.
Harvell believes PSU has the “best of both” with the quality of a larger university in a small-town setting. “To current high school students considering Plymouth State versus another college, I’d make sure that they understood why Clusters really sets PSU apart,” she says. “I’d also want them to understand that Plymouth is like family, with professors and staff who really care about your individual success.”
“I served as men’s rugby treasurer and subsequently worked in the Controller’s Office, and continued there as an accountant after graduation,” he recalls. “I managed the finances for all student groups and athletics, and it was my first job.”
Pignataro sees many ways for alumni to assist current students. “There are success stories that alumni can share, and any time we relate to current students by relating our experiences and how we got to where we are today is valuable. Additionally, alumni can help with networking and career advice. “ ■ Peter Lee Miller
