Rachel Gross “In Grenadine” etching

Rachel Gross, a Vermont printmaker, uses images of furniture and interior spaces, and details of wallpaper and upholstery patterns, to create a surreal, dream-like atmosphere. Her ghost-like images are reminiscent of blueprints, implying a future manifestation, and simultaneously, traces of past events. These surfaces become containers for human activity, and psychological spaces on which to project visions of the future and memories of the past.
