After Drerup: Students Artwork Inspired by Karl Drerup

Created by the National Geographic Society, Journey Through the Arctic Refuge is a photographic exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 19.2-million-acre refuge, its inhabitants, and the challenges it faces. PSU is the final destination of this nationally touring project.

Lecture: September 22, 7 p.m.
Boyd Science Center 144

Author and photographer Jon Waterman will be lecturing at PSU as part of the Karl Drerup Art Gallery lecture series and the Science Colloquium organized by Center for the Environment.

After Drerup features works by students in Kathi Smith’s spring 2010 Objects, Interiors, and Landscape class that were inspired by the ideas, practices, and visions of Drerup himself or by the students’ own individual explorations. Works were juried by gallery director Catherine Amidon and art department faculty members Annette Mitchell and Kathi Smith.
