Plymouth, N.H.—Walkabout Wednesday returns to downtown Plymouth from 4–6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3. Downtown businesses and organizations welcome local artist and makers into their spaces to show what they do, and welcome visitors from all over the region and the state to explore Plymouth’s beautiful Main Street and downtown area.
Internationally known portrait photographer Maundy Mitchell of Campton has her studio at 2 Post Office Square, facing the Plymouth Common. Mitchell frequently welcomes other artists to her studio for Walkabout Wednesday and April 3 will be no exception, when Barabra Zimmer will show her paintings. “I love to participate in Walkabout Wednesday because it’s a celebration of both art and community,” said Mitchell. “People of all ages participate. Even if they only have a few minutes, it’s fun to see people that evening.”
Another familiar Plymouth artist is painter Marcia Santore, who will show large and small paintings at the Plymouth Historical Society in the old Daniel Webster Courthouse on Court Street, just off Main Street, near the Silver Center for the Arts. “I think Walkabout Wednesday is a great way to share my artwork with the local community,” said Santore. “A lot of my exhibitions take place out of town. It’s very meaningful to me to have friends, neighbors, and other New Hampshire folks want to experience it. And the Plymouth Historical Society always does such a great job of making a welcoming space for people to drop in and enjoy.”
Students from Plymouth Regional High School will exhibit art work at Gowen Realty, located at 57B Main Street between two Plymouth eateries: Phat Fish and Lucky Dog Tavern and Grill.
