WALKING IN THE WHITES: A Poet/Painter Dialogue

Location: Museum of the White Mountains, Main Gallery

Opening Reception: November 5, 5-6:30pm

Featuring works by visual artist Kathryn Field and poet Timothy Muskat, this interactive and dynamic experience will engage visitors in a sense of place through words and images focused on the experience of the White Mountains. Tim has been hiking in the White Mountains all his life. He has completed 85 rounds of New Hampshire’s high 48; is working on his seventh so-called Grid; and has summited Mt Washington 416 times. Kathryn has been drawn to wilderness since childhood; the vastness, scale and raw forms of mountains have informed her work as a sculptor and painter.

This exhibit is funded in part by a grant from The Waterman Fund.

NEW: ANNUAL PSU ART FACULTY EXHIBITION

For art professors, the sabbatical time away from teaching is an opportunity to travel, explore, and contemplate. During their recent sabbaticals, Anneser and Driscoll have experimented with new ideas, processes, and media, while giving themselves time to simply create work. This exhibition gives us a view into their discoveries and the ongoing evolution of their work.

The Grand Hotels of the White Mountains

Location: Museum of the White Mountains, Main Gallery

The Grand Hotels exhibit will feature the spirit of innovation and invention which infused the origins, development, and history of the New Hampshire White Mountains grand resort hotels. Highlighting the five surviving hotels – the Omni Mount Washington, Mountain View Grand, The Balsams, Eagle Mountain House, and Wentworth Hall and Cottages – the display will illustrate New Hampshire’s White Mountains as a case study for the American Plan hospitality model.

2019 Bachelor of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibitions

The annual capstone exhibits by BFA in Studio Art and BFA in Graphic Design students features the work, passion, and educational journey by PSU senior students. Graphic Design students have been working all year, developing materials for their invented company concept and brand. Studio Art students have been creating a focused body of work in their areas of interest.

Highlighting the strength, energy, passion, and technical skill of our PSU art students, this annual exhibition features the best efforts of students from all levels of art making. Through exploration and experimentation inside and outside the classroom, this exhibition includes a wide variety of media from drawing, painting, photography, and video to graphic design, sculpture, and mixed media.
