After touring Plymouth State, it felt like a place I could call home. Everyone seemed so nice and friendly and it made choosing a school that much easier.
Why did you choose Plymouth State (PSU)?
After touring Plymouth State, it felt like a place I could call home. Everyone seemed so nice and friendly and it made choosing a school that much easier. I came from a very big high school and I didn’t want to be just a number in college. The small class sizes at Plymouth State has allowed me to make connections with all my professors.
What is the best opportunity that Plymouth State has given you?
The best opportunity has been becoming the Plymouth Activities Council for Students (PACs) treasurer. Since then I have had countless opportunities to meet people and work with influential individuals across campus. This positions has not only helped my professional and networking skills but has also helped me become a better leader.
What keeps you busy outside the classroom?
Outside of class, I like to hangout with my friends and go to the gym! My friends and I like to find different things to do, but especially like hiking in the local area. I have found that hanging out with my friends helps me take a break from the school work and just relax.
What have you learned to love while at Plymouth State?
Getting out of my room. I don’t like just sitting around by myself, so spend a lot of time with friends or doing homework in the HUB or the Library—where I am sure to find someone I know.
What advice do you have for future students?
Get active and involved. It helps you stay busy and out of your room. I have found that getting involved in clubs and organization is for sure the easiest way to make friends on campus. Also check your emails, you will miss so many important things if you don’t!
What are your plans for after graduation?
After graduation I would like to attend a graduate program for special education and become a special education teacher.
