“Celestial Seas” Spring Symphonic Band Concert
March 7 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Please join the PSU Symphonic Band on Thursday, March 7, 7 p.m., for a musical journey in celebration of the wonders of space. “Celestial Seas” is programmed in anticipation of the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, and will feature an array of contemporary and traditional band music by Julie Giroux, David Maslanka, Derek Jenkins, and John Philip Sousa.
The Symphonic Band will be joined by the Manchester Community Music School flute choir and PSU chamber ensembles.
Our journey will be led by Dr. Brad Moser, professor of physics and astronomy, and director of the Mark T. Sylvestre Planetarium, who will offer his insights into the inspiration behind each piece on the program, as well as giving a presentation on what we can expect during the eclipse in April.
In addition, audience members will receive a free pair of eclipse glasses with their concert programs. Don’t miss this out of this world event! Tickets are available at plymouthstatetickets.com.
