Eagle Pond Authors’ Series Presents: Matthew Olzmann

Matthew Olzmann will read from his poetry collections, Constellation Route, Contradictions in the Design, and Mezzanines, as well as from new work. There will be a brief question and answer period and book-signing with the poet following the reading.This reading is free and open to the public. Books will be sold at the reading by the Plymouth State University Barnes & Noble Bookstore. The poet will be available to sign them after the reading.Matthew Olzmann is the author of Constellation Route as well as two previous collections of poetry: Mezzanines and Contradictions in the Design. A recipient of fellowships from Kundiman, MacDowell, and the National Endowment for the Arts, Olzmann’s poems have appeared in the New York Times, Best American Poetry, the Pushcart Prizes, Kenyon Review, and elsewhere. He is an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at Dartmouth College and also teaches in the MFA Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College. Publisher’s Weekly calls Constellation Route “intimate and affecting,” and praises how, “in language at once direct and artful, Olzmann memorably explores the question of how one might speak across the gulfs dividing humankind.
