Mahler NH Philharmonic collaboration with Keene & PSU Choirs

Please join us for a first ever collaboration between the NH Philharmonic and Plymouth State University and Keene State College choirs! The NH Philharmonic is a 70-person symphonic orchestra and collegiate singers, faculty, and alumni will join together to form a 100-person chorus to present Gustav Mahler’s Symphony number 2 in C minor- The Resurrection Symphony. This is not to be missed!

This immersive concert revolves around the monumental Symphony No. 2, “Resurrection” by Gustav Mahler. A colossal work of both intense emotion and grand scale, Mahler’s second symphony is an exploration of life, death, and ultimate transcendence. The piece weaves a dramatic narrative, moving from the tumultuous funeral rites of the first movement to the serene, celestial vision of the final chorus. Throughout the symphony, Mahler’s distinctive sound-world blends human voice and orchestra, creating a profound dialogue that transcends musical boundaries. The concert promises to be an extraordinary journey, reflecting the depth and complexity of Mahler’s vision of the world.
