New Hampshire Music Festival Classics Series

For seventy two years The New Hampshire Music Festival has built community and enriched lives through the shared experience of exceptional classical music performances and outreach. Based at the foot of the White Mountains in Plymouth, NH, the Festival draws from the best of the past to the edge of the future to champion classical music as a universal language of expression and understanding. Performing live concerts every summer in the months of July and August audiences can experience the best of classical music performed by exceptional artists from across the United States.

Week 1: Midsummer Serenade July 11th, 7:00pm

Indulge in an evening of string orchestra splendor through Grieg’s elegant Holberg Suite, Larsson’s delightful Concertino for Trombone and Strings, Walker’s tender Lyric for Strings, and Dvorak’s joyful String Serenade. Led by concertmaster Charles Dimmick and featuring NHMF’s Principal trombonist David Loucky.

Week 2: Beauties & Beasts July 18th, 7:00pm

Explore the depths of imagination and emotion through Texu Kim’s playful Blow, Fly, Pop!!, Shostakovich’s haunting Cello Concerto No. 1, Ravel’s magical Mother Goose Suite, and Mozart’s majestic Symphony No. 29. Led by conductor Yaniv Dinur and featuring cellist Sydney Lee.

Week 3: Remember Me July 25th, 7:00pm

Engage in introspection and an exploration of memory and emotion through Higdon’s ethereal Blue Cathedral, Prokofiev’s passionate Violin Concerto No. 2, and Elgar’s iconic Enigma Variations. Led by conductor Yaniv Dinur and featuring violinist Bella Hristova.

Week 4: For the People August 1st, 7:00pm

Celebrate the resilience and the spirit of humanity through Copland’s grand Fanfare for the Common Man, Hailstork’s poignant Epitaph for a Man Who Dreamed, Kraft’s evocative Kennedy Portrait and Beethoven’s triumphant Symphony No. 3. Led by NHMF’s Conductor Laureate, Paul Polivnick and featuring Tom Reicher as narrator.
