Hovhaness-Loon Lake Symphony

In 1988, the Festival premiered Loon Lake, a symphony that it and the Loon Preservation Society, commissioned from the American composer Alan Hovhaness. Join us for our first return to this symphony that celebrates the sounds and beauty of the New Hampshire lakes. The program opens with Mozart’s lively Overture to The Marriage of Figaro, followed by the Festival’s concertmaster, Charles Dimmick, playing Beethoven’s Violin Concerto.
