The Secret in the Wings
February 29 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
A frightening babysitter reads from a book of obscure fairy tales. Dark & mysterious stories come to life with wit, humor, and looming disaster.
Mary Zimmerman’s The Secret in the Wings adapts a group of lesser-known fairy tales to create a theatrical work that sets their dark mystery against her signature wit and humor. The framing story concerns a child and the frightening babysitter with whom her parents leave her. As the babysitter reads from a book, the characters in each of the tales materialize, with each tale breaking off just at its bleakest moment before giving way to the next one. Not recommended for children under 10 years of age.
The performance will take place 2/29-3/2 in the Elizabeth Cheney Studio Theatre. PSU Students can use code “PSUSECRET” for one free ticket per event. In the event of a sold out performance, free student tickets must be scanned in to the theatre by 5 minutes prior or the ticket is subject to be resold.
