Symphonic Band Concert

Plymouth State University Symphonic Band presents the first concert of the spring semester. The band will perform traditional and contemporary literature in the Hanaway Theatre at the Silver Center for the Arts. The following and more will be performed:
Katahj Copley presents Halcyon Hearts, a piece that denotes a time when a person is happy or at peace. Using the colors and natural energy of the ensemble, this sound of ambition and passion is created throughout the work.
John Mackey presents Night on Fire. The exotic and at times savage sounds suggest wild dancing around a nomadic camp fire, complete with tambourine, multiple hand drums and harsh, biting winds. The harsh and aggressive nature of the work is sure to deliver an impact not soon forgotten!
