As a student living on campus at Plymouth State, I am always looking for local places to go out to eat with friends whenever I can.  Along with Plymouth, there are several surrounding towns such as Campton, Ashland, and Waterville that have plenty of wonderful restaurants that are locally owned with a warm aesthetic.  One that I find myself, and my family, drawn to the most is The Covered Bridge Farm Table in Campton.

Located directly next to the Blair Covered Bridge and overlooking the Pemigewasset River, this restaurant is family-friendly and serves foods from a variety of different cultures.  This restaurant offers a function room, so people can book it for events that they are looking to host.  The restaurant fully caters for those events and closes off the area for that specific function.  The handful of times that I have been to this restaurant I have had nothing short of a warm welcome.  The staff is kind and patient, and there is an item on the menu for anybody’s potential accommodations.

A favorite of mine is the buffalo chicken tenders.  These are an appetizer on the menu, but they are available for a meal and are involved in other dishes on the menu, such as buffalo chicken mac and cheese.  I enjoy them because they are more like honey buffalo.  They are spicy, sweet, and crispy and cooked to perfection much like all of their other dishes.  Their menu ranges from New England seafood to ahi tuna bowls to Italian dishes like bolognese.  The prices vary depending on what is ordered, but there are a variety of affordable dishes for everyone along with the pricier ones.

In terms of distance from Plymouth State, The Covered Bridge Farm Table is 5 miles away and a quick 10-minute drive, so if you and your friends are looking for a nice, local place to have lunch or dinner, this is a fantastic option!

  1. Great review! The Covered Bridge Farm Table is owned by alumna Jennifer Leonzi Burnell ’98. She’s very involved in the local community and just a great person. They also host great live music.
