I don’t read often, however, I have recently finished “Verity” by Colleen Hoover and I have not stopped thinking about it. Verity is a romantic thriller that will keep you on your toes. This book was addictive to read and will get you out of a reading slump, especially for those who don’t read often like me. The novel follows the perspective of Lowen Ashleigh, who is a struggling author on the verge of bankruptcy, that is until she takes an offer that will change her life forever. Lowen is hired by Verity Crawford’s husband, Jeremy, to finish her series since she is unable to do so following a terrible car accident.
While rummaging through Verity’s office, Lowen finds her unfinished autobiography that was meant to be unread. Verity discusses everything in her manuscript from the day she met Jeremy to the day the twins pass away. Verity goes into extreme detail on how she felt about each tragic moment the Crawford family experienced. As Lowen reads the manuscript, she contemplates if she should show Jeremy the true side of his wife, or shake up their lives forever…
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense. The feeling of not being able to put a book down is unbeatable, and this one encapsulates that perfectly. After finishing the book, I kept thinking about the end and I wasn’t sure what the real end of the book was, due to the cliffhanger and room for interpretation.
