We will not go back: PSU Dems President Endorses Harris

I believe that students have a choice to make this election. A choice far more important than left or right. That choice is to define whether America in the future is known as the nation of freedom and liberty, a progressive beacon that works for its people, a leader on the world economic stage and a guide for democracy everywhere; or if America is to be brought back to a place of hate and division – a future defined by single man, a man who worships dictators and who is only concerned with himself. 

I know that Kamala Harris is the right choice for America. The choice that will fulfill a future of freedom and liberty, progressivism and unity. The choice that chooses to bring our nation into the future, instead of returning to the past. Kamala Harris has proven herself as the Vice-President, casting a record breaking amount of tie-breaking votes in the Senate to safeguard our democracy. She has proven herself to be unwavering in the face of dictators, and those who wish to do our nation harm. She understands that America is the land of opportunity, and will fight to protect the industry, innovation and entrepreneurship that has made our nation the strongest economy in the world. Kamala Harris will protect our civil liberties including a woman’s right to choose what she does with her body. She will fight for your right to participate in our great democracy, the right to choose who leads our nation.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump and his billionaire friends will do everything in their power to strip you of your fundamental freedoms. Trump has bragged about handpicking the supreme court justices that overturned Roe V. Wade. His Project 2025 aims to strip LGBTQ+ individuals of their right to be free from discrimination, for their right to raise a family in this great nation. His economic policy will raise prices for everyday consumers to benefit the richest one percent that he’s taken millions from to keep his campaign afloat. Donald Trump will leave our allies behind, letting dictators such as Vladimir Putin destroy Ukraine and advance his conquest of Europe.

You have a choice to make, potentially the most important choice you will ever have to make in your life. I implore you to vote for Kamala Harris, to vote for a future your children will be proud of. As a democrat, as a citizen and as a student, I endorse Kamala Harris for President of the United States.
