Rachel Xavier

PSU Class of 2007 alumna Rachel Xavier understands that success is built on how well you serve others. A Google search of her real estate agency, the Xavier Group, returns a plethora of praise from satisfied clients. The Xavier Group, backed by Keller Williams Lakes & Mountains, has won “Best Realtor and Best Real Estate Team” in the Lakes Region for four years in a row. Now in its fifth year, the Xavier Group’s main directive is to help clients find their first or next home in the place that means so much to Rachel.

“My parents started taking my sister and I up to Lake Winnipesaukee and the White Mountains when I was three,” she says. “I fell in love with it right away. They taught me an appreciation for nature and the outdoors which has lasted a lifetime and been passed down to my son.”

At Plymouth State, Rachel majored in communications and minored in business. Both helped shape her ability to run one of the most successful agencies in the state. “The communications curriculum at PSU was extremely well balanced and helped me to come out of my comfort zone which really helped me to find myself,” says Rachel.

A lifelong tennis player, she played on PSU’s women’s tennis team and helped them to bring home the Little East Conference Championship in 2004. “My teammates became another family to me, and the coach a second mom,” Rachel remembers. “We would work out, practice, eat, and compete together. We all wanted to see each other succeed.” Years later, she would give back to the sport by serving as assistant coach. “Coming back as an assistant coach gave me the opportunity to give back and help a new team.”

Rachel hasn’t built her success off sales alone. Her desire to pay it forward has helped forge strong relationships within her community. She has served as a member of the Center Harbor Planning Board and the Center Harbor Heritage Commission, and she has helped lead fundraising efforts for the New Hampshire Children’s Auction, the Humane Society, Meredith Parks and Recreation, and the veteran-services organization, Swim With A Mission. The annual “Pets for Vets” gala raises essential dollars to match service dogs with local veterans.

On why giving back to her community is so important, Rachel says, “There was a time in life when I was a single mother and was struggling. I remember that I needed and appreciated any support. Fast forwarding to today, I took a risk and am very fortunate to have a successful career, and now I give back whenever I can to the community that always showed love and support to me.”

Rachel pays it forward to current Plymouth State students and future alums by generously supporting the Women’s Circle of Giving Endowed Scholarship and the Morgridge Strength & Performance Lab. “PSU played a huge role in my life,” Rachel says. “It was some of the best experiences that I have ever had, and it had a huge impact on who I am today. I absolutely love watching the University grow and seeing all the new additions that are available to students. I want students and future alumni to have even more opportunities and choices than I did.”
