He has a strong background in social research methods, and an active and varied research agenda focusing on the interaction of environment and society including sustainability science, rural community change and development, community attachment and grassroots activism, wilderness values and perceptions, the evaluation of environmental education and conservation programs, outdoor recreation issues and management, and public opinion about environmental and natural resource issues. Brian and the others involved in sustainability efforts at PSU look forward to continuing our efforts to make the campus and the community more sustainable.
