Chantal LaPlante is a proud alumna, having completed her undergraduate degrees in biology and nursing at Plymouth State University. She began her career working as a registered nurse in a Medical Surgical unit at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, completing the nurse residency program and post-operative transplant certification program during her time there. Her focus than turned to community health and education, working as a Nurse Health Coach within a primary care setting for two years. In this role, she found a deep appreciation for holistic patient care approaches. She fine-tuned these skills through certification in Motivational Interviewing and facilitating Stanford Diabetes Self-Care workshops within the Plymouth community. Chantal has acted as a Nurse Manager, overseeing clinical staff, providing triage nursing care, and working to implement quality improvement and safety procedures within the primary care setting. She has enjoyed training staff in Motivational Interviewing and CPR and continues to fuel her passion for education within the Lab Simulation Coordinator role. Chantal has received her Healthcare Simulation Educator certificate through St. Anselm College and continues to incorporate new technology and processes to improve the simulated learning experience.

Chantal is excited to bring her experience back to PSU to support future nursing students and is currently continuing her own education toward a graduate degree in Nursing at UNH. In her free time, Chantal is a 500 hour trained yoga guide and enjoys rock climbing, cooking, travel and nature. She has lived in the Plymouth community for over ten years with her husband and son and loves the easy access to scenic hiking and climbing areas.
