BS, MEd, Plymouth State College; EdD, Boston University

Dr. Buteau earned his B.S. in Elementary Education from Plymouth State College in 1986 and M.Ed in Guidance and Counseling from Plymouth State College in 1992. In 1998, he earned his Ed.D in Curriculum and Instruction from Boston University, where he studied with Dr. Kevin Ryan, an expert in the area of character education.

Dr. Buteau is a former elementary classroom teacher and has been a professor at Plymouth State University for 24 years. At PSU he teaches courses in curriculum development, instructional strategies and literacy education. His area of research/scholarship is in Literacy Education.

Dr. Buteau does extensive service work on several boards. He is a member of the New Hampshire Institutions of Higher Education, Past President and current member of the PSU Board of Alumni Directors, Vice Chair of the Moultonborough School Board, Past President and current member of the New Hampshire Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, member of the New Hampshire Professional Standards Board, and sits on the Governing Board of Directors of REL/NEI (Regional Educational Laboratory, Northeast and Islands).
