James Hannon
About James (Jamie) Hannon
Jamie Hannon began teaching at PSU since 2006. He draws on a broad background in environmental and outdoor education and outdoor leadership to teach a range of courses for the Adventure Education program, including Canoe Paddling Fundamentals, Process and Facilitation, Natural History & Ecology for Adventure Educators, Human-Nature Relationship and the Immersion Semester expedition courses. Jamie also coordinates PSU’s two Adventure Learning Master’s degree programs. Jamie is a founding board member of the Mountain Village Charter School, a Plymouth-area school that is breaking new ground in nature-based education for public elementary students. His research interests include pedagogical effectiveness of various methods of paddling instruction, and the integration of outdoor, in-school nature experiences into elementary schools. Jamie resides in the upper Baker River Valley with his wife and three daughters.
