Dr. Janine DeBaets, PT, DPT, OCS is a clinical assistant professor at Plymouth State University, where she teaches in the doctor of physical therapy (DPT) program and serves as a member of the Clinical Education team. She plays an integral role in patient/client management courses and supervises students in the University’s Integrated Clinical Pro Bono Clinic.

Dr. DeBaets earned her doctorate in physical therapy from the University at Buffalo in 2005 and completed an Orthopedic Residency at MGH Institute of Health Professions, becoming a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS). Before transitioning to academia, she worked as an expert-level clinician at Spaulding Rehabilitation Network and as an outpatient physical therapist at Exeter Hospital, where she continues to treat patients on a per diem basis.

Dr. DeBaets is committed to mentoring future clinicians and enhancing evidence-based practice in orthopedic rehabilitation, spine care, and manual therapy. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and contributes to research, clinical education, and professional development in physical therapy.
