Dr. Lappie is an associate professor of political science at Plymouth State University. Dr. Lappie’s teaching is focused on American politics, public policy, and research methods. A Connecticut native, Dr. Lappie received his PhD in political science from the University of North Carolina in 2015. From 2015 to 2018, Dr. Lappie was a researcher at the Center for Local Elections in American Politics (LEAP) at Rice University, and he is still a LEAP Research Affiliate. Dr. Lappie’s research has been published in Election Law Journal and Political Geography, and he has also presented his research at the Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA) Conference, the State Politics and Policy Conference, and the American Political Science Association (APSA) Conference.

Dr. Lappie is a sought-after expert who has done on-camera and virtual television interviews, and in-person and phone interviews with local, regional, and national press, including Associated Press, Scripps, Boston Globe, Boston Herald, POLITICO, Fox News, CBS News, NBC News, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, HTV and HCCTV in Houston, WMUR-TV (ABC), WCAX-TV (CBS), WFEA News Radio, WKXL News Radio, and WGBH-NPR Boston. He is a regular guest on the ‘New Hampshire Today’ program (WGIR-AM) with host Chris Ryan, and ‘The Morning Update’ with host Jeff Chidester (WFEA-AM/FM) and he has offered analysis on New Hampshire Business Review’s ‘Down to Business’ podcast and PBS-NH’s ‘The State We’re In.’
