Dr. Chiang teaches child welfare courses at PSU and serves as the coordinator of the Title IV-E Child Welfare Educational Collaboration Partnership between the PSU & DCYF. She taught macro social work practice courses for years before joining PSU and still frequently serves as a reviewer of social work textbooks and journals in immigrant studies, research methods, statistics, and social policies. Her research focuses on immigrant population’s oppressed experiences, mental health service use, and service delivery in the child welfare system. Her prior practice experience includes in the fields of child welfare, public assistance, domestic violence, and public policy domestically and internationally. She is an active member of the CSWE (Council on Social Work Education), SSWR (Society for Social Work Research), CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) in New Hampshire and a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in Massachusetts.
