Biography

Rob joined the Counseling Center in 2014 as a full-time staff member. He became a New Hampshire licensed psychologist in June 2015. Rob has experience working at three college/university counseling centers, a community-based counseling center, a hospital setting, and a substance detoxification/transitional living facility. Rob served as the Training Coordinator, supervising unlicensed practicum and internship trainees, from August 2019 to June 2021. Rob began serving as the Director of the Counseling Center in June 2021.


Counseling Approach and Areas of Specialization

Rob is highly influenced by Humanistic/Existential and Cognitive Behavioral theory in his approach to psychotherapy and counseling. Rob finds it meaningful to get to know the students he works with, listen to and understand them and their stories, and to collaborate with them in order to work towards their goals. Rob values the importance of harnessing the individual strengths and skills that those he works with possess as resources for healing and meaningful change. He believes in the importance of working with students to help them understand their challenges and provide supportive guidance as they work towards personal growth.

Rob has experience working with diverse populations including people of color and people of the LGBTQIA+ community.


Interests

Rob enjoys bowling, skiing, hiking, fishing, tennis, reading, listening to music, watching movies, collecting comic books, and spending time with others.
