I ordered care packages for my student and wondered what is the general timeline of when they all should arrive?

Care package orders can vary from year to year per delivery and based upon when care packages are shipped by Dormify and received on campus. Below is a general outline of when we typically will receive each set of packages for students.

  • Fall Welcome Care Packages — Last week of August
  • Halloween Care Packages — Third week of October
  • Out of the Blue Care Packages — Second week of November
  • Fall Finals Care Packages — First week of December
  • Valentine’s Care Packages — First week of February
  • Spring Finals Care Packages — Last week of April

I spoke with my student and believe their care package should have arrived. Why have they not received it?

When care packages are received by our office, we sort each one by the hall they are scheduled to be brought to by our hall staff and cross-referenced with the order sheet that we received directly from Dormify. Then packages are collected by hall staff and stored in-hall and an e-mail is generated by the director of residential life & dining services to all recipients. Students will be provided instructions on how to collect the package from the front desk of their residential community. Students will need to connect with their hall staff to come to collect the package.

If by chance, your order was processed after Dormify’s deadline, it means the package may be sent in a second shipment to campus at least one to two weeks following the regular timeline listed above. If for some reason you are still uncertain about the arrival of the package, you can always feel free to contact Dormify Customer Support (information listed above) to ask questions about your order or contact our office directly for support.

How long do I have to retrieve the Care Package?

Students will have two weeks from the date of initial contact to retrieve their care package. Any package not collected within that window will be discarded by Residential Life as our office does not have the capacity to store packages for longer than that time period.

Dormify Customer Support is available by e-mail at help@dormdoorm.eduThere is also a service form on their site https://www.dormroom.com/contact.

If you have any issues with Dormify Customer Support or have questions about the program or your student retrieving a package, please feel free to message Residential Life & Dining Services, ResLife@plymouth.edu, or by phone 603-535-2260. We do our best to respond within 24 hours during days we are in the office. MicroFridges

Residential Life & Dining Services partners with New England Student Services to allow students the opportunity to rent a refrigerator during their time on campus. Students may rent a refrigerator for the school year and New England Student Services will deliver directly to and pick up directly from their room. With all the other necessities you need to bring to college, you’ll appreciate that you will not have to shop for a refrigerator then squeeze it into the car or rent a trailer. No need to transport a bulky refrigerator when the best appliance for students’ needs can be delivered to the college for you if you choose. Please visit their website for additional information.

How do I pay for my refrigerator rental?

You can pay for your rental by Visa or Mastercard. Alternately, you can call our office at 401-405-0920. You can also order by mail with a check by using the response slip sent to you by the school.

Can I rent a refrigerator for less than my entire stay at school?

Yes you can rent throughout the year subject to availability. A special delivery fee may apply.

Why doesn't my school allow all model refrigerators in my dorm room?

Individual schools have differing requirements for what model refrigerators are allowed in dorm rooms. Our units are used because they are equipped with an internal power switching device that plugs into the wall, converting two plugs into one.  This enables the unit to run only one appliance at a time.  If the microwave is on, the refrigerator shuts off, power is restored automatically to the refrigerator in 3 minutes.

Is my refrigerator safe?

The refrigerators supplied by New England Student Services meet the school's energy conservation programs, they are energy efficient and safe (no exposed heating element).

What happens if two students in one room order?

Some schools allow multiple units per room. If that is not the case at your school, we will reimburse one student prior to delivery.

How does my refrigerator get delivered to my room?

On some campuses your refrigerator is delivered to your room before you arrive. If it is not in your room when you arrive you can check our delivery schedule which will be posted in your residence hall and on our website. A student must come to one of the scheduled stops and we will have someone go to your room with you to deliver unit. It does not have to be the student that ordered the unit, it can be a roommate.

What if I have to leave campus early?

We need at least 7 to 14 days notice to arrange for pickup. An early pickup fee will apply.
