Plymouth State University offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in General Management for students who hold a baccalaureate degree and would like to gain a strategic, in-depth understanding of business to support their personal and professional goals. The MBA learning experience is a stepping stone to higher levels of intellectual and career growth, and PSU offers the program in two formats. The MBA program can be completed entirely online, or face to face through PSU's 4+1 cohort option which starts in the summer semester of each year. The 4+1 cohort model is designed to be taken full-time and can be completed in one year. The online program can be taken at a full-time or part-time rate, the part-time rate can be completed in 2.5 years.
The MBA is 36 credits total and 6 of those credits are cornerstone courses. Students possessing an undergraduate degree in business may have the option to waive these Cornerstone courses after an assessment of their undergraduate coursework and grades by the Admissions Review Board. Building on this firm base of business knowledge, the programs extend and refine a student’s business proficiency through a series of theoretical and practical courses. Working with faculty members who have real-world experience in business, industry, and government, students can tailor their program by selecting courses from a variety of business areas and business-related electives.
PSU’s MBA in General Management is accredited by NECHE (New England Commission of Higher Education) and ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs).
MBA Program
Plymouth State has launched a new in-person cohort for the MBA in General Management. It is a one year intensive cohort designed for all students. You do not need a business degree or background.
While this program has been set up for current PSU students who will be completing their bachelor’s degree in May of each year, it is also open to anyone who wishes to complete the MBA program through an intensive face-to-face format on campus.
Most classes will be delivered in-person through small classes on our Plymouth, NH campus. You will travel through the courses together, allowing for a personal and friendly learning environment, where you will work closely with our experienced faculty who offer a wide array of business expertise.
Experiential Learning – You will learn by doing, playing a strategic managerial role in projects with real businesses. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to integrate your own business or start-up ideas into classwork making the program relevant and individualized for your personal career goals.
Non-Business Disciplines – Even if you have no business background, Plymouth’s MBA program will work for you. We offer two preparatory online classes taken before the cohort begins to provide you the necessary foundation and knowledge to be successful.
*International students who are interested in studying in the US, should contact the Graduate Admissions Office for more information about the in-person MBA cohort option.
PSU Communication and Media Studies students may consider a 3+1 option to complete your bachelor’s degree in an accelerated three year model, then move into the +1 MBA program for your fourth year at Plymouth State. LEARN MORE
Online Option – The MBA program will continue to be offered entirely online for students who prefer a non-cohort option or live a distance from the PSU campus. Coursework in the online program can be completed part-time or full-time, and with rolling admission you can start throughout the year for the next available semester.
